This is a truly pathetic spectacle…
After seven years of promising the full repeal of Obamacare, Republicans are trying to force a bill through Congress which would keep all the major framework of the failed healthcare law intact.
If that were not bad enough, they are now using the exact same rhetorical tactics that Democrats famously used to pass Obamacare. They are telling us that opposition to this phony bill is simply due to ignorance, and that we must pass it in order to find out what is really in it.
Is this what we voted for? This sure as hell is not what I voted for!
From The Hill:
Voter opposition to the Republican healthcare bill is the result of misunderstanding, and lawmakers will be able to “really explain it” once it becomes law, Rep. Chris Collins said Thursday.
“In my district, right now there’s a lot of misunderstanding as to what it is we’re doing,” the New York Republican said on MSNBC. “And once we get it done, and then we can have the chance to really explain it.”
Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) was famously excoriated by Republicans for her 2010 comments regarding ObamaCare that “we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”
