The United States of 2024 has just proven itself to be the dumbest country in human history. We are the world’s oldest constitutional republic. We have been the envy of the world for our freedom and prosperity. Those days are over.
The American people just decided to throw it all away in favor of authoritarianism. Fascism was on the ballot, and the people chose fascism. And why? Because the price of groceries and consumer goods are still temporarily high as a result of a global pandemic, and they stupidly believe that the current president is responsible for prices. So they voted for a criminal who literally incited a violent insurrection against the government in an attempted coup when he lost four years earlier. In short, the American People chose to install a man who promised to be a dictator because they are so poorly educated that they believe presidents control the price of milk.
I do not know what comes next for America, but I know this: America’s best days are behind us. We now enter a period of darkness from which we may never escape.
In explaining what the Founders created when they established this country, Benjamin Franklin said it is “a republic, if you can keep it.” Well, it appears that the American People have become too stupid to keep it. God help us.
